Inspired by the legend of Saint Valentine, the man, this piece is adorned with symbols associated with the saint. Before his death he cured a girl of her blindness giving her sight to see and the "sight to see the truth" and convert to Christianity. Thus the hand embroidered eye deep within the heart. Saint Valentine is the patron saint of bee keepers yet in the catholic church bees also represent the ideal catholic. Bees work hard, and non stop, at their tasks to benefit the good of the hive, not the individual. And finally the flowers bursting from above. Not only a representation of life anew, but also a tribute to the modern day version of the saints day in which flowers are given to show love.
Framed in a scratched and distressed wooden frame with wire in back for hanging.
