Item Condition- Framed in a vintage frame that is scratched, nicked and distressed.  Please view the last few images for frame condition to avoid disappointment.

Inspired by the stories of Saint Patrick, born a Roman Briton and capture by Irish pirates as a child.  It would be years before he escaped only to spend several months shipwrecked and stranded in a desolate land.  After a miracle supplying him and the ships crew with food, Patrick became a devote christian and priest.  Eventually he was sent to Ireland to convert the "wild" people there.  The most infamous story of Patrick is that of him banishing the snakes from Ireland.  While it is unlikely that this is true, it is believed to be a metaphor as Patrick is seen as having banished the pagan religions from Ireland and converting the people to Christianity.  Yet despite his efforts, there is still a little poison to be found in all of us.

Hand embroidered on charcoal linen fabric using vintage green sequins and seed beads.
