Inspired by those lost at sea.....or taken while at sea. This piece is set in a vintage dutch tin. The depth of the tin itself reflects the depths of the sea and the depth of grief. Inside the tin hand embroidered waves and clouds surround a vintage sepia toned photograph of farmers. Their crop field invoking an ocean. Fabric pieces and beads accent the embroidery. The lid of the tin hangs separately. Inside is set a hand embroidered weeping eye within an antique brass frame. Hanging from the eye are beaded strands and quarts crystal drops.
The metal of the tin is tarnished, scratched, stained, rusted and discolored. Please examine those pictures closely.
